Every corner of our design hotel in Bavaria has something for art aficionados to enjoy; everything has been carefully selected by us. The works of art come to us from Wolfgang Gerner. The artist has set up a living gallery that is part of the hotel: in the BarBarossa, the restaurant, the lobby. Art steles with contemporary works provide inspiration in our rooms and suites. High-quality art is part of the savoir-vivre at the Klosterhof and a connecting element in our overall concept.

Columns with contemporary art sculptures give each room something unique. They complement, reflect and emphasise the architectural beauty of our four-star superior hotel in Bayerisch Gmain. Art is an ever-present companion on your way through our hotel: even the walk-through cornerstone is a lithograph with Celtic symbolism. Modern art on the walls creates an exciting contrast to the historic building.

The Klosterhof is a true design hotel in Berchtesgadener Land: the interior of the lobby made of rosewood and gold tones creates style and offers a lovely contrast to the naturalness of the apple wood, larch and Swiss pine in our rooms. Take a seat at the BarBarossa and be amazed at the effect the Klosterhof has on you. As soon as you step foot into the hotel, you enter a very special world. As you sip your welcome drink, just imagine the honourable politicians attending the G7 summit who have also sat in these chairs. At that time, the chairs were located in Elmau and cushioned quite a few famous backsides.

There is so much to see, discover and say at the Klosterhof. We love taking the time to tell you more about the art and treasures you’ll find at the hotel, as well as the variety that calls this place home. While the new extension of the hotel features lovely touches of modern architecture, the historic section tells venerable stories of the past.

Take, for example, the salon or our Hallgrafen, Zeno and Itha parlours that can be booked for private events. Here, old vaulted ceilings and beautiful floors remind visitors of days long past. Excitement and passion come alive in our LiterArt library in the form of art and literature. Dr Andreas Färber holds weekly informational lectures here, and it is also the venue for readings and art and literature talks.
