Florian Hoefner Trio

Jazz pianist and composer Florian Hoefner can draw on a wide range of influences. Having grown up in Germany, trained in New York City and now at home in Newfoundland, Canada, the Nuremberg native has found his own style, which is characterised by musical diversity and ingenuity. Since 2018, he has been working with his new Canadian trio, for which he was able to recruit two outstanding jazz musicians from his adopted home of Canada: Andrew Downing on bass and Nick Fraser on drums. The group is now presenting its album "Desert Bloom", which was honoured with the Canadian music award JUNO 2023. At the centre of the album are original compositions in which Hoefner has processed his experiences during the pandemic.
